Victoria Vargas has been teaching at the Macphail Center for Music since September 2013, and Carleton College since September 2015. Her teaching is a combination of her research on the vocal mechanism and its function in balanced singing, teachings of her former and present teachers, and her practical application of technique used on stage in various genres and styles of repertoire. In 2016, Mrs. Vargas was awarded the James E. Ericksen grant for pedagogy research on how classical voice instruction differs from Contemporary Commerical Styles. She recently attended the Shenandoah Unviersity CCM Vocal Pedagogy Summer Institute. Mrs. Vargas is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and has taught master classes at the State University of New York at Fredonia, and MacPhail Center for Music. She maintains a private studio in Minneapolis.
